THE HIP-HOP SUMMIT ACTION NETWORK ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR LIL’ KIM
NEW YORK, N.Y. – JULY 6, 2005 – In the aftermath of the sentencing of Lil’ Kim today to one year and one day in prison by U.S. District Judge Gerard Lynch, the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network (HSAN), the largest national coalition of hip-hop artists and record industry executives, expressed support for Lil’ Kim. Dr Benjamin Chavis, President/CEO of the HSAN who attended the trial of Lil’ Kim earlier this year stated, “HSAN remains resolute in our support of Lil’ Kim. Her own statement today to the court reveals both her inner strength and courage. Lil’ Kim should not just serve time, she should make time serve her career and her commitment to be a role model for young women striving to get themselves up out of poverty in urban America and throughout the world.”
